Trans Am field set for Race Tailem Bend

The Trico Trans Am Series will be making its long-awaited Shell V-Power Motorsport Park debut this week, with a field of 19 to tackle the fourth round of the season.

Forming part of a bumper Race Tailem Bend schedule, the popular series will welcome many of its regular competitors for the round and one new inclusion .

Making his first appearance for the year will be South Australian driver Lee Stibbs, who will be racing for just the second time in Trans Am having debuted at Sandown last year.

Headlining the entry list though is current series leader James Golding and his main title rival, reigning champion James Moffat.

With just 22 points separating the two Garry Rogers Motorsport stars and the third placed Jordan Boys a further three points adrift, the entertaining title fight is likely to continue during the four races at Tailem Bend.

TFH Racing’s Todd Hazelwood and leading privateer Elliot Barbour for Pioneer DJ are also entered in the round and will be looking to improve their current positions on the standings of fourth and fifth.

The battle for Young Gun honours is also shaping up to be an exciting battle with The Racing Academy’s Elliott Cleary currently on top after winning the opening round. AWC Race Tasmania class winner Nathan Herne and Ford Mustang 60 Years Race Phillip Island victor Nash Morris are both entered, adding plenty of interest to the round.

The Shannons SpeedSeries will be running on the Shell V-Power Motorsport Park’s West Circuit for the first time this weekend and Trans Am competitors will revert back to the same format from Tasmania with two races on Saturday and two on Sunday.

Fans who can’t make it to the track will be able to tune into the event via the live and free broadcasts on 7plus on Saturday and Sunday.
