SpeedSeries to kick off in Symmons Plains

After months of anticipation, the Shannons SpeedSeries officially gets underway this weekend with the return of AWC Race Tasmania.

In 2023, the new-look Shannons SpeedSeries will host eight events throughout the year, with visits to Mount Panorama, Sandown, Winton, Phillip Island, Sydney Motorsport Park and Queensland Raceway all part of the calendar.

However it all begins this weekend at Symmons Plains with the Launceston based circuit to host the season opener for the third consecutive year.

Six categories will be in action over the course of the weekend with a busy schedule awaiting teams, drivers and fans alike.

Popular national categories such as the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series, the S5000 Australian Drivers’ Championship and the National Trans Am Series will all be taking centre stage at multiple times throughout the round.

The Gulf Western Oils Touring Cars Masters is the other national category in action in the season opener, while state level Hyundai Excel and Tin Tops round out the list of categories.

The final day of the season opener will run in a similar format to Saturday, with Tin Tops and Hyundai Excels in the early morning, before the four national categories round out the weekend with their remaining races.
