South Australia returns to Trans Am calendar

A seven-round National Trans Am Series calendar has been confirmed for 2024 and will feature predominantly on the Shannons SpeedSeries.

The popular category will visit five states across a total of six Shannons SpeedSeries rounds, kicking off with Sandown Raceway in February and concluding its season with the Repco Supercars Championship’s VAILO Adelaide 500.

The Supercars round will be the second of two South Australian visits in 2024, with a trip to Shell V-Power Motorsport Park also planned for the very first time in the series’ history.

Following the season opener in Melbourne, drivers and teams will cross the Bass Straight for a round at Symmons Plains Raceway in Tasmania before a second Victorian round at the world-famous Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit in April.

The fourth round of the season will see the category make its Tailem Bend debut, which is likely to provide similar racing to that of the fast-flowing Phillip Island, which delivered three exciting affairs this year.

Round five will see a return to the warmer weather at Queensland Raceway before taking the international stage once again at Supercheap Auto Bathurst International.

Mount Panorama will be the first of a category back-to-back, with the Adelaide 500 taking place the following week on 14-17 November.

The National Trans Am Series begins its 2024 season as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries at Sandown Raceway on 9-11 February.
