Australian Production Car Series
Bob Pearson has clean-swept Round 3 of the Australian Production Car Series, as he stayed out of trouble to bring home his Evo in first place throughout all four of the one-hour races at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Pearson led the way for the weekend ahead of Nathan Antunes and Rod Salmon, which also saw the return of their AMG A45 over the weekend.
Grant and Iain Sherrin overcame bad luck to finish third for the weekend, despite ongoing issues with a deflating tyre.
Dimitri Agathos and Lachlan Gibbons were fourth for the round on their home circuit, while Leigh and Gerry Burges completed the top five.
Tyler Everingham had impressive drive, earning him sixth outright and the win in Class C.
Scott Gore claimed Class B1, Daniel and Wayne Clift winners in Class B2 and duo Jason Walsh and Mark King taking out Class D.
An great drive saw Nathan Stephens and Brianna Wilson bring home Class E on their debut in the series.
The Australian Production Car Series will now prepare for Round 4 at Queensland Raceway next month.
Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Australia
Jordan Love has clean-swept the fourth round of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge, by taking both of today’s race victories.
The Porsche Junior had a battle with former F4 rival Brenton Grove in the second race for the round, however remained unchallenged in the final deciding race at Sydney.
Brenton Grove finished a solid second for the round, while having a great dice with Elite class winner Anthony Gilbertson.
Gilbertson finished third outright for the event, while John Morriss finished fourth after a consistent weekend.
Brett Boulton was fifth, ahead of Sam Shahin and John Steffensen.
Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge will now head to Queensland Raceway next month for their penultimate round of the season.
Australian Prototype Series
Mark Laucke has bounced back into the series fight, taking all three race wins for the weekend during the third round of the Australian Prototype Series at Sydney.
Laucke had strong competition in the race, especially in Race 3 with a late move from Mark Short in his Prince machine.
Radical racer Michael Shaw finished a solid second place in all of the races and including the round, while his rival Peter Paddon rounding out the top three for the event.
Short was fourth, ahead of Gerrit Ruff and Chris Sutton.
Sole F1000 racer Terry Peovitis was seventh, while John-Paul Drake, previous-round winner Jason Makris and Philip Hughes rounded out the top 10.
The Australian Prototype Series will now travel to Queensland Raceway next month, as part of their fourth round for the season.
Radical Australia Cup
An eventful second and final race of the weekend in Radical Australia Cup saw Peter Paddon extend his series lead after taking the Race 2 win.
Paddon escaped all of the action to take the lead of the race, and along the way having a good battle with Oliver Smith.
The First Focus driver dominated the race, nearly lapping the entire field.
Chris Medland was second for the race, with an impressive Sue Hughes claiming third for the race and the round.
Two consistent fourths saw Brad and Mitchell Neilson claim an impressive second for the round.
Unfortunately Phil Anseline, Smith and previous round winner Michael Shaw were all non-finishers in today’s 50 minute race.
Radical Australia Cup will now head to New Zealand for their final round of the series at Highlands Motorsport Park in November.
Veloce Alfa Challenge
David Capraro and Michael Musumeci have shared race wins on the final day of racing at Sydney, in the Veloce Alfa Challenge hosted by the Alfa Romeo Owners Club Australia.
Musumeci led Doug Selwood to his first race victory of the weekend in Race 2, with Capraro finishing third for the race.
Capraro was victorious in Race 3, taking the win ahead of Danny Gatto and yesterday’s race winner Enzo Piazza.
Piazza endured mechanical issues with his car in the second race, unfortunately unable to cross the chequered.
The Shannons Nationals will head north of Australia for Round 5 of the 2017 season, heading to Queensland Raceway across 4-6 August.
