Fraser Ross will compete in the 2018 CAMS Australian GT Championship after the Victorian confirmed his plans to return to the competition.
Ross will team up with McElrea Racing, who will be looking to add to their last major title, the 2016 CAMS Australian Endurance Championship.
Ross will compete in all six rounds of the championship in the YNA Autosport McLaren 650S GT3, looking to build on his success from his debut GT season in 2017.
“Towards the end of last year we were really on top of things and I think that showed in the results we were getting, so I’m excited to be working with YNA Autosport and McElrea Racing again,” Ross said.
“We’ve got a new McLaren 650S GT3 with the same team and crew from last year, so we all know how to work with each other and extract every little bit of performance. “It’s going to be a big year for us, and I can’t wait to get started at the Grand Prix.”
Ross showed a lot of promise in his debut CAMS Australian GT Championship season, placing on the podium three times and winning the final race at Sandown Park Raceway.
The 27-year-old will be part of a historic grid next week, with the GT4 category appearing for the first time in an Australian championship competition.
The 2018 CAMS Australian GT Championship will begin next weekend with the first round taking place during the Formula 1 2018 Rolex Australian Grand Prix on 22-25 March.
