Jack Perkins will play a key role in the broadcast of the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships broadcast in 2020.
Perkins, who was part of the Shannons broadcast for two rounds in 2019, will now feature at every round this year as part of the improved live stream and Seven Network live broadcast once racing returns.
While the exact schedule for the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships is yet to be confirmed, Perkins was excited to be playing a bigger role in the coverage this season.
After recently becoming a father for the first time, Perkins said he was looking forward to the racing season getting underway and joining the coverage.
“That’s something I was really excited for,” Perkins told Australian Racing Group’s Parked Up podcast.
“I got to fill in for a couple of the events last year and really enjoyed being part of the product and the show. The racing was something new to Australian audiences, and to be a part of it was fantastic.”
Perkins will feature across a range of the categories that will compete at each round, including the carsales TCR Australia Series which captivated audiences in its debut year in Australia in 2019.
“The second season (of TCR) was only going to be bigger and better, and I know the competitors and teams and owners are incredibly keen to get that series back on track,” Perkins added.
“It’s a period of uncertainty, but once it gets going it’s going to be fantastic to watch. I’m looking forward to being part of it.”
Despite the new TV role, Perkins is certainly not planning on putting his racing commitments to the side, having been named as Will Davison’s co-driver in the 23Red Racing Ford Mustang for the endurance races as part of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.
