Bob Pearson made it four starts from four race wins in the Pro-Duct Mitsubishi Evo 10 for the Tyreright Sydney Challenge at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Race 3 across the weekend saw Pearson lead home Rod Salmon and Nathan Antunes in their Mercedes A45 and the Lachlan Gibbons/Dimitri Agathos FullGas Racing Subaru WRX STI.
The STI benefited from the retirement of then-third-placed Mark Eddy and his Audi TT RS, with just a minute and a half left on the clock.
Meanwhile, heartache struck for the Sherrin Racing team, which had lead the first half of the race and was challenging for second following the stops when another flat right tyre struck, finishing fourth outright.
Taking out the class race victories were Tyler Everingham in Class C, Scott Gore and Patrick Galang in B1, Michael James in A2 Class, the Hankook Australia Kia Proceed in Class D and the FullGas Racing Nissan Pulsar in Class E.
Grant Sherrin would work hard to bring the car back up the field to second behind Pearson, with Grant pushing very hard to close the gap over the closing portion of the race. However, it wasn’t to be, with the #18 crew having to settle for second – a personal best race result in the new car which only achieved its first race finishes this weekend after debuting earlier this year.
Third across the road was the Salmon/Antunes entry after another strong showing, while battles raged across the classes.
Taking home the race class wins would be Everingham in Class C, the Warren Clift/Daniel Clift Nolan Finishes HSV VZ in A2, Michael Sherrin and Stephen Champion in Class B1, the Walsh/King Kia Proceed in Class D and the Wilson/Stephens Nissan Pulsar in Class E.
The Australian Productions Car Series will now head to Queensland Raceway for their fourth round, to be held on 4-6 August.
