Outright series winner promises return to Production Cars

Reigning Outright and Class A winner Beric Lynton and co-driver Tim Leahey have announced their intentions to run in the Australian Production Car Series in 2017, despite missing the next two rounds of the season.

Lynton mentioned their two-time winning BMW 1M is also on the market, another car has been lined-up ready for the duo to run later in the series this year.

“Work is a necessity, and we have some product launch/training travel commitments with Land Rover for new models arriving this year to attend, that clash with some of the rounds,” Lynton said.

“We definitely are trying to be at Queensland Raceway, but will miss the Winton and Sydney Motorsport Park events.

“Once the original multiple championship winning car is sold, we’ll review all options for a replacement car.

“Personally, and as I’ve said before, I think the BMW M3/M4 is still the best option … however Jaguar have just announced a SVO XE for Europe that would be great but is planned for left hand drive only.”

The second round of the Australian Production Car Series will be run as part of Round 3 of the Shannons Nationals at Winton Motor Raceway, featuring two 300km races on 9-11 June.
