Liam McAdam has confirmed his place in this year’s Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series with the 24-year-old to tackle the entire 2022 season.
Having raced in just four rounds over the past three years, McAdam will now contest all seven rounds this year in the same Audi RS 3 TCR he drove previously after securing sponsorship for the full season.
During the 2019 season, McAdam ran in the Audi under the Melbourne Performance Centre banner for the final three rounds, with a sixth place and fastest lap at Sandown his best result.
Converting to a privateer entry ahead of the 2020 season, COVID-19 and border restrictions then prevented the Queenslander from enjoying a consistent run in the series, and he competed only at Mount Panorama at the Bathurst 6 Hour.
Ahead of his first full season in the series, McAdam was excited about the year and believed he was prepared adequately.
“We’ve got a backer for the year, and we plan on doing the full series,” McAdam said.
“The flip side is that I haven’t done a lot of driving in two years, so that now becomes my full focus.
“We’re testing at Queensland Raceway at the end of the month and then full steam ahead for Tassie.
“I’m really looking forward to the season. I love driving these TCR cars. They suit my style and as we saw with Chaz (Mostert) and Luke (King), the Audi is certainly a competitive package.”
The 2022 Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series gets underway next month with Race Tasmania at Symmons Plains on 11-13 February.
