Brad and Will Harris have confirmed they will return to the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series in 2024 and contest the full seven-round season under the Wall Racing banner as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries.
Having had a solid debut season this year, Brad will tackle his second full campaign behind the wheel of the new Honda Civic Type R FL5, which Nestor Girolami drove during Race Sydney and the Supercheap Auto Bathurst International.
Will, on the other hand, will make the step up into the same Honda Civic FK7 TCR Brad ran in 2023, which netted him a 12th place finish in the overall standings and included a season-best race win and podium finish at Queensland Raceway.
The Harris brothers became the latest drivers to confirm their place in TCR next year, with Wall Racing teammate Tony D’Alberto having been the first driver to formally announce his place.
Following a strong first season, Brad was looking forward to building on the momentum in 2024.
“I learnt the ropes last year, and now we’ll see what we can do,” Brad said.
“We knew the Gen two car from Honda would be an upgrade, and we had a great opportunity to buy the car before it was brought over for Nestor (Girolami) to race in the final two rounds. We learnt a lot from Nestor across the World Tour rounds.
“I wasn’t expecting 2023 to go as well as it did, especially at Queensland Raceway, that was a bit of a shock to the system. We’re still learning a lot, particularly in qualifying, so it’s just a case of trying to put it all together in 2024 and hopefully, it comes together nicely.”
As for Will, after making his debut at Race Sydney and finishing all three races, he missed out on running at the season finale in Bathurst but was keen to continue learning.
“There’s plenty more left in the car and the driver,” Will said.
“The more laps you do, the more confident you get. By mid-season, I think we should be on the ball. It’s great to learn and work with Brad, especially on the data side, which is new to both of us. Working as a team is the best way forward, even with a little brotherly rivalry.
“Having the experience of David Wall and Tony D’Alberto is more than helpful, being able to learn from their knowledge and just ask all the questions.
“Bring it on, I can’t wait.”
The Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series gets underway at Sandown Raceway on 9-11 February as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries.
