Fouracre ready for fresh challenge

Jack Fouracre will return to the CAMS Australian Endurance Championship with Eggleston Motorsport as the team prepare for the category’s first ever race at The Bend Motorsport Park.

Fouracre will join reigning champion Peter Hackett in the same Mercedes-AMG GT3 that Hackett drove in last month’s Australian GT championship opening round with Dominic Storey at Albert Park.

With Storey unavailable, Fouracre will jump behind the wheel at a brand new track that will present plenty of challenges.

“It’s hard to say (how we’ll go) for The Bend because no-one’s been there, no-one knows what the track’s like, and I’ve really got to get my head around the car, so I’d probably be really happy with a top five result for the first round,” Fouracre told Speedcafe.com.

With Storey racing in the Dunlop Super2 Series in 2018, Fouracre was relishing the opportunity to spend plenty of time behind the wheel.

“It’s obviously a great opportunity to drive with Pete and the team,” Fouracre said.

“From their results last year I’m pretty excited for that and looking forward to it.

“I had driven the car on AMG days, so it’s given me an idea of what the car is like compared to the Audi from last year and the year before, so knew it was a pretty good thing.”

The CAMS Australian Endurance Championship will headline the Shannons Nationals’ first round on 13 – 15 April at the Bend Motorsport.
