D’Alberto and Honda to team up in 2024

Tony D’Alberto and Honda Australia have confirmed they will once again team up in 2024 to tackle the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series.

The 2022 champions will contest the seven-round national season behind the wheel of the new Honda Civic Type R FL5 TCR – having announced the news during the launch of the all-new Type R FL5 at Shell V Power Motorsport Park.

Next year’s partnership will mark half a decade that Honda has supported D’Alberto and Wall Racing’s TCR program, having debuted in the inaugural season back in 2019.

Having already campaigned the Honda Civic Type R FL5 TCR for two rounds during the 2023 season, D’Alberto was excited to welcome back the popular manufacturer for another year.

“It’s fantastic to continue with the great support from Honda Australia for the 2024 TCR Australia Series,” D’Alberto said.

“We have achieved some amazing results over the journey, including winning the title in 2022 and finishing second on two other occasions.

“The 2024 season is shaping up to be very competitive, as it always is in TCR, so I’m looking forward to getting back into it for the first round at Sandown.”

With D’Alberto finishing the 2023 season in second place overall, the Director at Honda Australia, Carolyn McMahon, was more than happy to continue the support.

“Honda has a rich history in motorsport, and we are thrilled to continue supporting Tony in the driver’s seat of the Honda Civic Type R FL5,” McMahon said.

“Together with Tony and Wall Racing, Honda Australia has had great successes over the years on the racetrack. Our commitment to Tony and the team in 2024 underscores Honda Australia’s association with high-performance cars both on and off the track.”

D’Alberto will enter the new season full of confidence with the updated car, which features improved suspension, brake, and engine cooling performance and saw the Victorian secure a dominant round win in the season finale at Mount Panorama last month.

The 2024 season gets underway as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries at Sandown Raceway on 9-11 February.
