Michael Clemente and the Carl Cox Motorsport team have successfully rebuilt their rapid Cupra Leon after a costly incident in the dying stages of race three at Hi-Tec Oils Race Winton in June.
The team worked endlessly to ensure the car was ready for the fourth round of the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series at Queensland Raceway this month.

Three corners of the car were damaged as a result of the incident, with much of the damage to the usual areas such as some bent arms and linkages, lights and splitter not hard to replace.
Although, the major challenge came with a full gearbox rebuild, which required the mechanics to remove the engine – where they were able to check every nut, bolt and washer to ensure the car would be like-brand-new again.
In what was a brilliant effort all around from the small team, the main satisfaction came from the testing results at Queensland Raceway this week, where they completed a complete shakedown of the car with no issues.

Carl Cox Motorsport team member, Danny Clemente was ecstatic to get the car ready in time for Queensland Raceway and will look to continue their great form going forward.
“It was such great work by our small team to complete all repairs ourselves in house,” Clemente said.
“We are looking forward massively to the upcoming round at QR, to try and get back to second in the championship and pick up where we left off in moving back up the ranks.
“To have a fast car at Phillip Island on a fast flowy track and then back it up at Winton which is the complete opposite was incredible.
“Let’s see what the warmer weather has in store for us at a similar circuit.”
