Recently crowned 2017 CAMS Australian GT Series winner Steve McLaughlan says his series win one of the toughest in his career.
A veteran in Australian GT racing, McLaughlan claimed his second series career win at Wakefield Park in November in his Audi R8 LMS Ultra.
“I’m really pleased to win the series, it’s obviously a challenge,” McLaughlan said after his win.
“You know you win a few races at the beginning of the year and then obviously you have slight problems.
“Coming into the last round we had a small lead, so it was mine to win or to lose… pleased to get the result.”
McLaughlan claimed his first title in 2003, competing in the Australian GT Championship’s Trophy class.
The Jamec Pem racer plans to continue racing in the Australian GT Trophy Series next year.
