Experienced motor sport broadcaster Cameron van den Dungen will join Greg Rust at Phillip Island as part of this year’s improved Shannons Nationals live stream.
van den Dungen has hosted and commentated across a range of events from grassroots to premiere motor sport categories, including Supercars and Formula 1, for both television and on course coverage.
The improved live stream has already seen an increase in audiences from 2017, with increased behind the scenes coverage and interviews ensuring a strong product is on offer for motor sport fans.
Shannons Nationals Director Michael Smith said the inclusion of van den Dungen to the on-air team would further enhance the stream’s offering.
“Cameron is a terrific broadcaster who really understands the intricacies of all the different categories that are part of the Shannons Nationals calendar,” Smith said.
“We’re looking forward to seeing Cameron and Greg work together with the rest of our production team at this upcoming round at Phillip Island and are really excited about further enhancing the already high quality of our offering of the live stream.”
van den Dungen said he was excited to be part of the Shannons Nationals team.
“The Shannons Nationals is the premiere showcase of national level motor sport in Australia, where you can see the stars of the future and drivers who have had success at an elite level racing on some of Australia’s greatest circuits,” van den Dungen said.
“Over the course of the years I have worked very closely with a lot of these teams, drivers and categories and I’m looking forward to being able to spend more time telling their stories to a broader audience.
“The team that CAMS have put together are some of the most talented people, from both a production and commentary point of view, that I have worked with and I can’t wait to join ‘Rusty’ and the entire live stream team.
“With four exciting categories at Phillip Island on the first weekend in June, I’m excited to work in pit lane to bring a much more in depth look at what is going on during the sessions from a teams and drivers point of view and produce some really engaging content for the fans.”
The next round of the Shannons Nationals will take place at Phillip Island on 1-3 June. The live stream will begin on Sunday morning and can be viewed on speedseries.com.au and Shannons Nationals Facebook page.
The categories racing at Phillip Island as part of this round are the CAMS Australian GT Championship, CAMS Australian Formula 4 Championship, Porsche Michelin GT3 Cup Challenge Australia and Radical Australia Cup.
