Tim Brook’s Resurgence in Trico Trans Am

Tim Brook is locked in to make his Trico Trans Am Series comeback at Mount Panorama, the first driver announcement ahead of November’s Supercheap Auto Bathurst International.

The Shannons SpeedSeries finale will take place at the iconic Bathurst circuit, with Trico Trans Am races to be featured across the weekend’s track schedule.

Tickets are now available for Supercheap Auto Bathurst International at motorsporttickets.com.au.

Brook has collected 14 podium finishes across 42 races in the category, sitting level with Nathan Herne on three career pole positions.

A three-time race winner in this category, Brook is once again racing with Waltec Motorsport alongside Aron Tebb, the duo expecting to field four cars at Bathurst.

The pair last raced together 12 months ago at Mount Panorama, where Brook started from the back in Race Three due to a mechanical fault but, impressively, managed a fifth-place finish.

“There’s a bit of unfinished business for us at Bathurst,” Brook said.

“We went there last year and had the pace to put it up the front, but we had a mechanical and we spent all weekend trying to make up for it.

After taking on a driver coaching role for the last year, Brook is eagerly anticipating his return to the category.

“I just enjoy driving these cars, they get me excited and sometimes you sort of take that for granted,” he said.

“When you line up to do a race in Trans Am, you know that it’s going to be extremely rewarding if you can get through and make the most of the package you’ve got.

The cars move around a lot, they sound awesome and you’re spending a lot of time driving the thing sideways, it’s a lot of fun.”

Brook is hopeful to make an impact in his return, but understands the challenges that come with being out of the action for a year.

“I’d like to hope we can land somewhere at the front but having not done a lot of racing lately there’s realistically something to be said for seat time, or a lack thereof.

“But we’ll go and have a good time and just go as well as I can,” concluded Brook.

Supercheap Auto Bathurst International takes place on 8-10 November at Mount Panorama, Bathurst.
