The Shannons SpeedSeries will reach the midway point of the 2025 season later this month with Queensland Raceway to host a bumper EVENTelec GT Festival Queensland on 30 May – 1 June.
With up to 20 hours of action making up the busy schedule across the three days, there will be plenty of entertainment for fans to enjoy throughout the weekend – both on and off and track.From the exciting racing of five national categories to free paddock access and a grid walk on Sunday ahead of GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS’s second race, there is much to enjoy in the third round of the season.
Joining GT World Challenge Australia once again will be Monochrome GT4 Australia, Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia and First Focus Radical Cup Australia, while the National Sports Sedan Series makes its first appearance for the year in the Shannons SpeedSeries.
Fans wanting to catch the action can attend Friday’s schedule for free, while single-day tickets across the weekend start at $35 and a weekend pass from $60.
GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS
The Arise Racing GT Ferrari with Jaxon Evans and Elliott Schutte has been dominant so far in 2025 after taking three out of four race victories however, they arrive at a circuit where the Ferrari failed to score a podium across the two races last year.
Aaron Love subs in for Jordan Love who is committed to duties in the GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS .Mercedes-AMG can’t be discounted either. Led by a strong Tigani Motorsport line-up, the team will be looking for its first win of the season.Jayden Ojeda and Paul Lucchitti will head the Tigani Motorsport charge after a strong run in Sydney for the team, which expanded to four entries for the first time.
Volante Rosso are back with its Aston Martin spearheaded by Declan Fraser and Liam Talbot who are eager to take first victory in Australia, especially in their home state.
There are changes at Wall Racing as super-sub and team owner David Wall joins Adrian Deitz in the crowd pleasing Lamborghini Huracan replacing regular co-driver Tony D’Alberto.
Renee Gracie displayed her rapid pace at Sydney and will be going into Round 3 leading the Am Class standings.
Brothers James and Theo Koundouris have swapped Audi for Mercedes-AMG in an attempt to bridge the gap before the winter break.

Method Motorsport plan to stay at the top of the Monochrome GT4 Australia Silver class after a successful Sydney event for Tom Hayman and Max Geoghegan.
They will be challenged by Miedecke Motorsport with Lubrimaxx pairing George Miedecke and Rylan Gray who took their first win of the season in Race 2 at Sydney.Winners at Phillip Island, Blake Purdie and Daniel Price in their Audi will be aiming for the top step once again, with the BMW of Cody Burcher and Tim Leahey hot on their heels. In amongst the mix is the Porsche of Zoe Woods and Nash Morris who aren’t giving up without a fight.
New comers Multispares Racing Ford Mustang GT4 in the hands of Aaron Cameron and Ryan Hansford will join the ultra competitive Silver-Am class that has thus far been a competition between Aaron Seton and Jason Gomersall who currently hold a handy advantage to Cameron Crick and Dean Campbell heading into Queensland.
Tony Quinn will be joined by a new driver, with New Zealand GR86 Championship Rookie winner Chris White replacing fellow Kiwi Hugo Allan in the Game Over Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo2.
Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia
The next generation of Porsche racers will again be close combatants at Queensland Raceway, with Lachlan Bloxsom aiming to extend his marginal nine-point series lead on home turf.
New Zealander Tom Bewley leads plenty of pursuers including Jake Santalucia, Ryan Casha, Willie Exton, Tyler Greenbury and winner last time out Kamal Mrad.
Ramu Farrell holds a commanding lead in Pro-Am Class heading to Queensland Raceway, with the impressive Daniel Quimby holding a comfortable margin in Class B for previous generation Cup Cars.
First Focus Radical Cup Australia
The rivalry between Peter Paddon and Cooper Cutts took another turn at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Cutts completely dominated the round by securing pole and achieving a clean-sweep of victories across all four races to enhance his title challenge against the seasoned Paddon.
Ruairidh Avern, Chris Reindler and Bryce Moore, and Brad Russell will be eager to join the battle as the lead pair begin to build a sizeable advantage after just two rounds.
National Sports Sedan Series
The National Sports Sedan Series is an exciting category featuring limited rules and plenty of technical innovation.
Variety is the spice of life in Sports Sedans as different configurations, engines, bodies and designs take to the track creating one of the most exciting categories in Australia.
Geoff Taunton and Steve Lacey lead the way after the opening round, each driving an IRC GT SS.
Queenslander Ashley Jarvis holds third in a Holden Monaro from the BMW of Matt Sims and Chris Jackson in a Holden Calibra rounds out the top five.
Reigning series winner Steven Tamasi in a Calibra and rookie Cadel Ambrose driving a new Audi A4 will be ones to keep an eye at Queensland Raceway.
