Current Virgin Australia Supercars Championship driver Chaz Mostert has announced he will be taking part in next weekend’s Australian Production Car Series at Winton Motor Raceway.
Mostert will co-drive with Nathan Morcom in the DPO Ford Focus RS that they drove to second place in the recent Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour over Easter.
“Bathurst was a pretty interesting event for us, we debuted a new car and had to iron out some bugs … it was pretty cool to get a second place there and to be leading towards the last couple of laps,” Mostert said.
“I really enjoy racing the production cars, it lets you get back to the basics a bit, and I am looking forward to running beside Nathan again, it is always good fun!
“Thanks to Direct Plasterboard Outlet and Barry [Morcom] for backing the team, he is also a personal sponsor for me in Supercars as well, so it is good to go out there in the orange rocket and see what we can do.”
The next round of the Australian Production Car Series is their first stop on the Shannons Nationals agenda for 2017, with the series set for two endurance races next weekend.
