A strong field of 28 cars has been confirmed for Round 3 of the 2025 Monochrome GT4 Australia season, which sees the category make its way to the sunshine state for the Shannons SpeedSeries’ EVENTelec GT Festival Queensland.
A host of familiar faces and new drivers are entered in the round at Queensland Raceway with the newest being the incoming Aaron Cameron and Ryan Hansford.
Behind the wheel of the Multispares Racing Ford Mustang GT4, Cameron and Hansford will enter the round in the Silver-Am class and will be hopeful of starting off their new campaign on a high.
Although they will have plenty of confidence of getting a good result, the Supercars driver and Touring Cars Masters champion will have their work cut out for them in the competitive nine-car class, with the talent pool running deep.
The duo won’t be the only contending Ford Mustang GT4 in the class, with Aaron Seton and Jason Gomersall of Gomersall Motorsport and DA Campbell Transport’s Cameron Crick and Dean Campbell both entered and looking to build on their positions of first and second in the class standings.
Also running a Ford Mustang in the class will be the returning Jack Wallis, who will be alongside father Adam Wallis having missed the trip to Sydney Motorsport Park earlier this month.
Like the Wallis family, Ben Newman and Lachlan Dalton are back in the category after missing GT Festival Sydney, and the Buckby Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT4 pair will be looking to add to their two top five finishes from Phillip Island.
Another new face in the series will be New Zealander Chris White, who replaces Hugo Allan in the Keltic Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO 2 alongside veteran Tony Quinn, while the second Toyota of GWR Australia’s Daniel Frougas and Tim Berryman are again in action.
Rounding out the class are the Tufflift Racing TSM McLaren Artura GT4 of Zac Soutar and Glenn Nirwan and Lachlan Mineeff and Rob Rubis who are in the Ginetta G56 GT4.
Boasting the biggest field in the category, the AM class welcomes motorsport great Paul Morris and Chris Pappas for their first appearance for the year.
Behind the wheel of a Norwell Factory Racing McLaren 570s GT4, the pair are the only new entry in the 11-car Am class and will be looking to make a statement early.
Class leaders Randall Racing has entered two cars for this weekend with Jacob Lawrence on top of the standings, while teammates Jamie Augustine and Peter Lawrence sit fourth overall.
Splitting the two Randall Racing BMW M4 GT4 G82 are a pair of solo entries with Glenn Walker sitting second overall in the Gomersall Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 F82 and Shane Smollen who will be looking to continue his remarkable form from Sydney and continue his charge up the standings.
Smollen is one of the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS drivers, with Method Motorsport teammates Chris Lillis and Nathan Callaghan in the other and sitting fifth respectively.
The class welcomes three Mercedes-AMG GT4s to the fold with AR Nineteen Motorsport’s Mark Griffith and Jamie Arratoon behind two of them and Love Racing TSM’s Bailey and Rob Love behind the other.
Making up the remaining entries in the class are ninety9motorsport’s Marcus LaDelle and Jarrod Keyte in the Ford Mustang GT4 and McElrea Racing’s Nathan Murray in a BMW M4 GT4 G82 EVO.
The Silver Class welcomes plenty of regulars to Queensland Raceway over the weekend, headlined by class leaders Tom Hayman and Max Geoghegan – the Method Motorsport McLaren Artura GT4 pair currently sitting 16 points on top of the standings ahead of title rivals George Miedecke and Rylan Gray in the Miedecke Motorsport with Lubrimaxx Ford Mustang.
In the battle for third place – just one point separates three entries with both the Purdie Racing Audi R8 GT4 of Blake Purdie and Daniel Price and TekworkX Motorsport’s Nash Morris and Zoe Woods in the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS on 49 points, while Ashley Seward Motorsport’s Tim Leahey and Cody Burcher occupy fifth in their BMW M4 GT4 G82 on 48 points.
Fresh from a podium in Sydney, Summer Rintoule and Jarrod Hughes currently sit sixth in the Triple Eight Race Engineering Mercedes-AMG GT4, highlighting the variety of manufacturers in the class, with the top six ranked crews all in different brands.
Rounding out the stacked field for Queensland Raceway is another Mercedes-AMG GT4 in Gomersall Motorsport’s Jake Camilleri and the Method Motorsport McLaren Artura GT4 of Lochlan Hennock and Nathan Morcom.
Monochrome GT4 Australia will have one practice session and pre-qualifying on Friday, Qualifying and Race 1 on Saturday and Race 2 on Sunday. Australian-based fans will be able to tune into all of Saturday and Sunday’s sessions via 7plus, while international viewers can stay tuned via the GT World YouTube page.
