The National Trans Am entry list for this weekend’s Race Sandown has been locked in with a stacked field of big names and fresh faces to contest the season opener.
Sixteen drivers will make their way to Sandown International Raceway for the first Shannons SpeedSeries event of the year, with the series to enjoy three races across a busy weekend.

Headlined by reigning champion James Moffat and Supercars drivers Tim Slade, James Golding and Todd Hazelwood, there will be plenty of competition for this year’s series title.
Joining the quartet as early contenders for title honours is star privateer entry Elliot Barbour, regular frontrunner Ben Grice and Queensland youngster Nash Morris, all looking to take the next step in 2024.
Morris will not only be aiming to be in outright title conversations, but he will also be hopeful of being victorious in the newly introduced Young Gun Award.
There are seven talented steerers under the age of 25 eligible for Award honours, with Morris’ biggest rivals being Garry Rogers Motorsport’s Edan Thornburrow and multiple-time race winner Tom Hayman.
Series debutant Tom Davies, Elliott Cleary and Dream Racing pair Jackson Rice and Joshua Webster will also be in contention for the Young Gun Award.
Webster will also be one of three drivers in another newly introduced class, Pro Am, with John Hollinger and Chris Pappas the other two entered.
Rounding out the entry list is series debutant Jordan Boys, who has a wealth of experience after competing in Supercars as a co-driver, Dunlop Super2 Series and S5000 Australian Drivers’ Championship for the past few years.
Trans Am will be broadcast live and free via Seven, with racing to form part of the 7plus stream, while select races will be shown on free-to-air on the Seven Network.
