SRO Motorsports Australia, promoter of the Shannons SpeedSeries, is pleased to confirm a landmark deal that will see a new race event held at the world-famous Mount Panorama circuit in Bathurst in October 2027.
The new Bathurst race will conclude the 2027 Shannons SpeedSeries calendar, adding Australia’s most iconic racing circuit to a bustling five round series that will feature all of the country’s best motorsport venues.
This event marks the first time since 2024 that the Mount Panorama circuit will host a fifth motorsport event, with the Shannons SpeedSeries event to take place on the final weekend in October – marking a busy month for the famed 6.213km road course.
The final event of the year will feature Australia’s premier GT categories, GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS and Monochrome GT4 Australia, both of which also announced their provisional calendars as part of the SRO Motorsports global calendar reveal at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa.
The new Bathurst date will be the perfect end to a dynamic 2027 Shannons SpeedSeries calendar that features Australia’s best race tracks, with Monochrome GT4 Australia to run its first endurance race since mid-2024.
The series will start at Phillip Island for its now traditional opening round in April, followed by The Bend in May, Sydney Motorsport Park in July and Queensland Raceway in September before the finale at Mount Panorama in October.
Further details, including categories and racing formats, will be released in the coming months.
The 2026 Shannons SpeedSeries still has three rounds to run, with Darwin’s Hidden Valley Raceway set to host its first-ever SpeedSeries round next month on 24-26 July.
