Shannons SpeedSeries moves to new home on FOX SPORTS for 2026

SRO Motorsports Australia is pleased to announce a brand-new broadcast partner for the 2026 Shannons SpeedSeries, with the popular racing platform now calling FOX SPORTS Australia home.

As part of the exciting new deal, all six rounds of the Shannons SpeedSeries will be available live on Fox Sports’ streaming service, Kayo SPORTS, with highlights packages from each day available on-demand for fans who missed the event live.

In addition to the Shannons SpeedSeries, FOX SPORTS, available on Kayo SPORTS and Foxtel, has the exclusive rights to many of SRO Motorsports’ other global assets, with Australian-based fans able to watch GT World Challenge Europe, Asia and America, British GT Championship, the Suzuka 1000, Pirelli GT4 America and GT4 European Series.

The deal is a major coup for the future of the Shannons SpeedSeries, which heads to FOX SPORTS for the first time in its two decades of existence.

The move also cements FOX SPORTS as the home of motorsport in Australia, as the Shannons SpeedSeries joins top-level categories such as Formula 1®, MotoGP, Supercars and NASCAR.

Not only does Fox Sports, available on Kayo Sports and Foxtel, have a comprehensive motorsport program, but it also showcases the nation’s best overall sporting coverage, with codes such as AFL, NRL, Cricket, UFC, golf and plenty more.

In 2026, hugely established production house Rainmaker will once again hold the reigns in bringing the Shannons SpeedSeries to viewers as the official Production Partner.

Having already played a key role in the delivery of the Shannons SpeedSeries in 2024 and half of the 2025 season, Rainmaker brings significant experience to the fold and the ability to deliver strong broadcast offerings, having covered a number of national-level codes, including AFLW, speedway and hockey.

The Shannons SpeedSeries’ first event on Kayo SPORTS will be the highly anticipated opening round in Victoria, with LIQUI MOLY GT Festival Phillip Island to kick off the new partnership in style.

Forming part of the season opener will be GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS, Monochrome GT4 Australia, Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Australasia, Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia and the newly created Mustang Cup Australia.

Fans wanting to attend the event will be able to purchase their tickets via speedseries.com.au/tickets, while those unable to make it out can watch live from the comfort of their own homes on Kayo SPORTS.

LIQUI MOLY GT Festival Phillip Island kicks off the Shannons SpeedSeries at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on 27-29 March.

FAQS

Where will I be able to watch the Shannons SpeedSeries?

From 2026 onwards, the Shannons SpeedSeries will be broadcast exclusively on the subscription services FOXTEL, FOX SPORTS and its streaming platform, Kayo SPORTS. Fans will no longer be able to watch any Shannons SpeedSeries coverage on the Seven Network.

International viewers outside of Australia will be able to watch every GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS and Monochrome GT4 Australia session across Saturdays and Sundays live and free via the GT World YouTube page.

Do I have to now pay to watch the Shannons SpeedSeries?

Yes. As FOXTEL is a subscription service and not free, which includes FOX SPORTS and Kayo SPORTS, individuals within Australia wanting to watch the Shannons SpeedSeries coverage must have a valid subscription to either FOXTEL or Kayo SPORTS.

Prices for each subscription are available on their respective websites.

Why did SRO Motorsports Australia move Shannons SpeedSeries to FOX SPORTS?

FOXTEL, FOX SPORTS and Kayo SPORTS are widely regarded as the home of motorsport in Australia, with Formula 1, Supercars, MotoGP and NASCAR all on the platform.

Being within that premium motorsport broadcast ecosystem strengthens the credibility of the Shannons SpeedSeries, as well as expanding its reach to fans who may not be familiar with the Shannons SpeedSeries.

It also has a diverse range of other popular sports as part of its service, including AFL, NRL, cricket and more – exposing the Shannons SpeedSeries to broader sports fans and audiences.

Will going behind a pay wall reduce reach?

Moving to the successful subscription platform will have a positive effect on the Shannons SpeedSeries’ reach, as FOXTEL boasts a total subscriber base of almost 5 million people across its multiple services, one third of whom are active users of Kayo SPORTS.

Many motorsport fans around the country will already have a subscription due to the likes of Formula 1, Supercars and MotoGP already being on the platform.

Will any of the Shannons SpeedSeries’ races be shown on free-to-air TV?

No races will be on free-to-air TV, as all televised sessions of the Shannons SpeedSeries will be shown exclusively on FOXTEL, FOX SPORTS and Kayo SPORTS.

Viewers outside Australia will be able to watch GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS and Monochrome GT4 Australia sessions live and free on the GT World YouTube page.

Will there be free highlights available to watch?

More details on how fans can watch highlights will be released in the coming weeks. However, each participating category at all rounds will have the opportunity to show highlights following the broadcast.

Viewers outside Australia will be able to watch GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS and Monochrome GT4 Australia sessions on the GT World YouTube page.

How can I watch the Shannons SpeedSeries if I don’t have a subscription?

Unfortunately, the Shannons SpeedSeries will be shown exclusively on FOX SPORTS and Kayo SPORTS and you will need a subscription to watch, or watch with someone who has an active account.

With recent ticket price changes and broadcast updates, how is SRO continuing to support and prioritise fans?

The rise in ticket prices and the switch to FOX SPORTS are not in correlation with each other, with the former a result of growing inflation costs, while the move to FOX SPORTS represents a significant strategic step forward for the series to align it with other major sporting codes and motorsport categories.

Fans are one of the biggest priorities for SRO Motorsports Australia, with FOXTEL’s service offering a user-friendly interface, high-quality content and a large audience.

Were fans considered when making this decision?

While fans were not directly involved in the decision-making process, many Australian sports fans have access to Kayo SPORTS and/or FOXTEL, making it an ideal destination for the Shannons SpeedSeries.

Does this change the broadcast quality at all?

The quality of the broadcast will not be affected by the move, as the highly esteemed production house Rainmaker will once again be the official Production Partner of the Shannons SpeedSeries.

Having already played a key role in the delivery of the Shannons SpeedSeries in 2024 and half of the 2025 season, Rainmaker has provided high-quality coverage and production expertise.

What races will be shown as part of the new broadcast agreement?

Like previous years, a large portion of Saturday and Sunday sessions during each round will feature as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries broadcasts, and the move to FOX SPORTS and Kayo SPORTS will not change that.

What does this mean for international viewers?

International viewers will not be affected by the change to FOX SPORTS and Kayo SPORTS, with all GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS and Monochrome GT4 Australia televised sessions broadcast on SRO Motorsports’ GT World YouTube channel.
