The LIQUI MOLY GT Festival Queensland marks Round 3 of the Shannons SpeedSeries where five top categories will do battle.
Queensland Raceway appears simple on paper, but is quite technical and the racing is always close at what is affectionately known as ‘The Paperclip’.
GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS, Monochrome GT4 Australia, Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge, Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia and Radical Australia Cup will provide the action.
Friday hosted the opening race of the event, plus plenty of laps for the competing categories.
GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS
Ferrari and Audi shared the honours after the opening sessions of Round 3 for GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS.
Runners-up in 2025, Jaxon Evans and Elliott Schutte haven’t enjoyed the best start to their campaign this season, but they set the pace in the opening session driving the AR GT Ferrari 296 GT3.
Audi rounded out the day fastest as Renee Gracie led the Bronze session and Ryan Wood paced final practice in the Team BRM/Wolfbrook Motorsport R8 LMS GT3 Evo2 shared alongside Steve Brooks.
Monochrome GT4 Australia
The array of manufacturers was evenly spread after the opening day of action for Monochrome GT4 Australia in Queensland.
Silver Cup was led by the Multispares Racing duo Cam McLeod and Mason Harvey, while the Nippy’s Audi R8 LMS GT4 of Blake Purdie and Jobe Stewart set the pace.
In Silver-Am Cup, Caleb Paterson and Scott Green topped the timesheets in the first session driving the Norganics Protein Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS. Local drivers Lachlan Evennett and Andrew Torti finished fastest in the CAMM Quarries/Concrete Racing Toyota Supra EVO 2.
Glenn Walker completed a sweep of Am Cup in his Gommersall Motorsport Ford Mustang GT4.
Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge
It was a quick opening day for Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge courtesy of practice followed by qualifying and the opening race in the evening.
Sonic Motor Racing Services secured pole again courtesy of Hayden Haikal, who scored his second for the season.
However, New Zealander Hunter Robb took the honours in Race 1 ahead of Lincoln Taylor and Xavier Avramides.
Anthony Gilbertson continues his domination of the Am Class honours by taking the victory.
Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia
On the category’s first appearance at Queensland Raceway, series leader Josh Anderson set the pace in both practice sessions.
Debutant Oli Wickham was quick, setting the second fastest time in the opening session, a feat matched by his experienced teammate Jack Perkins in the second.
Perkins was third in the first practice session, while Wickham finished the second in the same position.
Radical Cup Australia
In Radical Cup Australia’s maiden appearance on the Shannons SpeedSeries bill in 2026, Isaac McNeill, Chris Reindler and Bryce Moore set the pace in Queensland across three practice sessions.
The action continues on 13 June encompassing 12 hours of action headlined by Monochrome GT4 Australia’s race into the night at 5:00pm AEST.
Ticket prices start at $42.49 for adults, with kids 15 and under admitted free.
