The Shannons SpeedSeries’ LIQUI MOLY GT Festival Darwin, with four categories delivering thrilling racing at Hidden Valley Raceway.
From breakthrough victories and championship shake-ups to local heroes and high-profile debuts, Saturday produced plenty of memorable moments as the Northern Territory hosted another action-packed day of motorsport.
GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS, Monochrome GT4 Australia, Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia and the Territory Tourers all featured on a busy schedule, with one more day of racing still to come.
GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS
Mark Rosser and Alex Peroni claimed a commanding victory in the opening GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS race at Hidden Valley Raceway.
Rosser avoided the opening-lap drama before handing the #268 Team BRM Audi R8 LMS EVO II to Peroni, who completed a lights-to-flag victory ahead of Jayden Ojeda and Paul Lucchitti, while Will Davison and Renee Gracie charged through the field to complete the podium.
Paul Stokell and Matthew Stoupas also celebrated Trophy Class honours after leading the class from start to finish.
Monochrome GT4 Australia
History was made as Monochrome GT4 Australia held its first-ever race at Hidden Valley Raceway, with Will Exton and Jack Johnson securing a maiden Silver Cup victory.
The Team Soutar Motorsport pairing converted a smart pit strategy into victory aboard their McLaren Artura GT4, while Blake Tracey and George Miedecke finished second ahead of Sam Paley and Jack Wallis.
Lachlan Evennett and Andrew Torti continued their winning form in Silver-Am, while Jarrod Keyte claimed another important Am Cup victory to strengthen his championship campaign.
Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia
Supercars race winner Bryce Fullwood enjoyed a dream series debut by claiming victory in the opening Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia race of the weekend.
Racing in front of his home Northern Territory crowd, Fullwood guided his Ryan McLeod Racing Cars Mustang Dark Horse R to victory ahead of Joe Fawcett and Josh Anderson after a closely fought 31-lap contest.
Brock Stinson and Jack Perkins rounded out the top five.
Territory Tourers
The local Territory Tourers once again entertained fans with a competitive opening race at Hidden Valley.
Ross Salmon took the victory aboard his HSV Clubsport after edging fellow Territorian Eddie Austin, while David Ling completed an all-local podium in his VH Commodore.
Shane Smith and Geoff Cowie rounded out the top five in an action-packed race for the popular Northern Territory category.
Sunday’s final day of the LIQUI MOLY GT Festival Darwin features the concluding races for GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS, Monochrome GT4 Australia, Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia and the Territory Tourers, bringing an exciting weekend of racing to a close.
