Shannons SpeedSeries debuts new Ford Raptor as Official Recovery Vehicle for 2025

The Shannons SpeedSeries welcomed the newest member to its family during the season opening GT Festival Phillip Island in April, with the highly popular Ford Raptor making a successful debut as the Official Recovery Vehicle.

Launched during the opening round at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, the Ford Raptor will appear at the remaining five rounds of the 2025 season, offering support to trackside operations and ensuring efficient vehicle recoveries throughout the season.

Ford already has good representation in the Shannons SpeedSeries with four entries in Monochrome GT4 Australia, a number of which picked up class podiums during the visit to Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.

SRO Motorsports Australia CEO Ben McMellan was thrilled to have the backing of Ford and the Raptor as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries in 2025.

“To have a brand as iconic as Ford involved as in the series is a major boost and we’re extremely pleased to be able to have the Ford Raptor as the Official Recovery Vehicle,” McMellan said.

“Motorsport events can be greatly affected by incidents that happen and being a customer racing service where it’s important that all drivers have as much track time as possible, a vehicle we know will get the job done efficiently is highly reassuring.

“A big thank you to Ford for getting behind the Shannons SpeedSeries in an official capacity, and look forward to seeing the magnificent Ford Raptor in action throughout the season.”

The Ford Raptor is a tough, versatile, and highly capable pickup Ute designed to handle the most demanding conditions. With its powerful engine options, advanced technology, and impressive towing capacity, the Raptor is built for both everyday utility and high-performance applications – making it the perfect recovery vehicle for the Shannons SpeedSeries.
