Returning Randle to lead Sports Sedans battle

The Precision National Sports Sedan Series field has received a major boost ahead of its next round at the Shannons SpeedSeries’ Race Tailem Bend, with the returning Tom Randle leads the field.

It’s been three years since Randle’s last appearance in the series, having last run his SAAB back in 2021, and the Supercars star will once again be behind the wheel of the powerful car that saw him enjoy plenty of success.

Randle also has a longstanding history with the category, having debuted in 2014 and finishing third at the end of the 2015 season.

His well-known SAAB will look different to when he previously ran it a few years back, with Snowy River Caravans, BP, Castrol, ACT Fence Hire, DeVilbiss and Herzog all backing the Victorian for his grand return.

“It’s fantastic to be getting the band back together and give the SAAB Sports Sedan a run this weekend at The Bend in the Precision National Sports Sedan series,” Randle said.

“I am thrilled to welcome Snowy River Caravans and BP onboard the #49 SAAB for the weekend, and continued support from Castrol, ACT Fence Hire and DeVilbiss.

“I always love racing this car and it’s great to keep up the racing miles and stay sharp while we have a couple of weeks break, in between the Perth and Darwin Supercars rounds.

“It’s such a fun time away racing with Dad and the guys (Adrian and Geoff) so here’s hoping we can have a solid weekend – albeit nice and early each morning.”

Randle won’t be the only big name returning for the category this weekend with 2022 champion Jordan Caruso and Brad Sheriff both entered for the round.

The trio join a stacked entry list for the round, which takes place on the West Circuit of Shell V-Power Motorsport Park, with Pete Ingram headlining the strong field.

Other notable contenders include multiple-time champion Steve Tamasi, Geoff Taunton, Kim Barwick, Ash Jarvis, Michael Robinson and Steve Lacey.

The series will have three races during the weekend with Qualifying and the first outing to run on Saturday and the remaining two races to run on Sunday, with the first and last race to be broadcast live and free on 7plus.

Tickets for Race Tailem Bend are available for purchase at motorsporttickets.com.au with multiple ticketing options on sale, including weekend passes and corporate packages.

Fans who can’t make it to the track will be able to tune into the event via the live and free broadcasts on 7plus on Saturday and Sunday.
