The First Focus Radical Cup Australia has confirmed its 2026 calendar this weekend with the popular sports car category to feature on two Shannons SpeedSeries events.
Having held its full five-round season with the Shannons SpeedSeries in 2025, the series will move down to just two next year with appearances, while holding its other rounds with Supercars and the Australian Superbike Championship.
Its first event with the Shannons SpeedSeries will be in June at Queensland Raceway as part of GT Festival Queensland before returning in September for GT Festival Sydney at Sydney Motorsport Park, while a visit to Perth for Supercars splits the two rounds.
A fifth and final round is yet to be decided, but Radical Cup Australia Category Manager Charise Bristow was pleased to get the majority of the calendar sorted.
“It’s been a process to piece together our 2026 calendar but we are pleased with where we have ended up,” Radical Cup Australia Category Manager Charise Bristow said.
“Splitting our calendar between the Australian Superbike Championship and the Shannons SpeedSeries offers the best balance of dates, fantastic circuits and ensuring the bang-for-buck value is there for our competitors.
“It’s also great to return to the Supercars in Perth. Our track record at that event in providing strong fields and good racing has been very good in the past and I’m sure 2026 will be no different. Competing at a Supercars round is always a good boost for our competitors.”
SRO Motorsports Australia CEO Ben McMellan was happy to have Radicals back with the series.
“The First Focus Radical Australia Cup offered plenty of exciting racing in 2025, and we’re pleased to have them back for two rounds of the season,” McMellan said.
“Queensland and Sydney often produce fantastic racing, so it’s fantastic to have Radicals a part of those events where I have no doubt they will put on a show for the fans.”
