Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia will once again feature prominently in the Shannons SpeedSeries in 2026, with the popular one-make series set to run at four events next year.
The news confirms the longstanding relationship between Porsche Motorsports Australia and the Shannons SpeedSeries, with the category having been a regular on the bill for many years now.
Like this year, Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia will kick off its season with three consecutive Shannons SpeedSeries events, beginning with the highly-anticipated GT Festival Phillip Island at the end of March.
The series will then continue to enjoy visits to South Australia and Queensland, with GT Festival The Bend at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park in early May and GT Festival Queensland in Ipswich in mid-June.
Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia will kick off its 2026 campaign at the bumper season opener at the famous Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit alongside GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS, Monochrome GT4 Australia, Ferrari Trofeo Pirelli Challenge Australasia and the newly created Ford Mustang Challenge.
Following its third consecutive visit to Reid Park in Townsville as part of the Supercars bill in July, the Porsche Carrera Cup-feeder series will return to the Shannons SpeedSeries for the final time in September, with the GT Festival Sydney at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Like this year, Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia will wrap up its season with Supercars with the final round to take place at Sandown Raceway in November.
The series’ 2026 calendar announcement came in line with the Porsche Carrera Cup Series, which will see all nine of its rounds feature with Supercars.
Porsche Cars Australia Senior Motorsport Manager, Craig Nayda was excited for the continuity in 2026.
“The 2026 calendar is the result of significant consultation with our teams, stakeholders, event promoters and is designed to give the best possible balance in pacing the events throughout the year while delivering great experiences to our competitor group,” Nayda said.
“Our partnerships with the SpeedSeries and Supercars are extremely productive, and we’ve got a great working relationship with both to ensure that both Carrera Cup and Sprint Challenge remain in premium positions on both calendars.
“We’re excited about the 13 events on our 2026 calendar and another big year of one-make Porsche racing in Australia.”
The 2026 Shannons SpeedSeries season begins with GT Festival Phillip Island at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on 27-29 March.
