PHILLIP ISLAND READY FOR FERRARI CHALLENGE AUSTRALASIA RETURN

The scenic Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit welcomes the return of Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Australasia for a second year, as 16 cars prepare to line up for Round 2 of the championship. After a closely contested opening round at Mount Panorama, Bathurst, the action moves to another classic Australian circuit.

Trofeo Pirelli. The rivalry between Antoine Gittany (Ferrari Sydney) and Enzo Cheng (Ferrari Sydney) will continue to build at Phillip Island following contact in Race 2 at Bathurst. The duo will battle a strong Trofeo Pirelli field at Phillip Island. Returning New Zealander Rick Armstrong (Continental Cars Ferrari) and Jim Pollicina (Ferrari Sydney) took full advantage of the incident at Bathurst to lead the way heading into Round 2. Victorian local Damien Hamilton (Ferrari Richmond) and highly experienced Austrian Ernst Kirchmayr (Kessel AUTO) are welcome additions, with Adnan Sibai (Ferrari Sydney) completing the Trofeo Pirelli field.

Coppa Shell. David Trewern (Ferrari Gold Coast) dominated at Bathurst by completing a clean-sweep of pole positions and victories. Japanese driver Masahiro Taguchi (Ferrari Brisbane) was a contender in each of the two races at Round 1, while Aemel Nordin (Ferrari Adelaide) was a significant improver during the opening weekend. The trio will face competition from returning New Zealander Michael Walker (Continental Cars Ferrari) after his debut at Bathurst. Completing the field are Tony Baildon (Ferrari Brisbane) and Japan’s Baby Kei (Cornes Osaka), who make their first appearance of 2026 at Round 2.

Trofeo Pirelli 488. Ross Tomain (Ferrari Gold Coast) is expected to be the lead contender at Phillip Island after an exciting performance at Round 1. Dominant Bathurst winner Richard Moore is out, while fellow New Zealander Rob Steele (Continental Cars Ferrari) steps in for his series debut at Phillip Island. A third car, entered by Ferrari Richmond, completes the category for this round.

The season. Phillip Island is the second event for the 2026 Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Australasia championship season. The Bend follows on 8-10 May before Queensland Raceway for the championship’s maiden appearance at the venue on 20-21 June, with Sydney Motorsport Park hosting the finale on 18-20 September.
