This weekendβs Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour will be missing one of the biggest names in the country after Shane van Gisbergen was forced to pull out of the event.
In his absence, Walkinshaw Andretti United star Nick Percat will now join Rob Rubis and Shane Smollen in the #1 Prestige Connex BMW M4 Competition.
Despite being his first attempt in the popular six-hour race, Percat is a highly capable replacement for van Gisbergen having enjoyed plenty of success at the mountain throughout his career.
In 2011, Percat won the Repco Bathurst 1000 and has made two appearances on the podium for the great race since then.
He also had plenty of experience driving alongside Smollen with the duo having teamed up together for three seasons in the Pro/Am class of the Porsche Carrera Cup.
The Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour takes place at Mount Panorama as part of the second Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships event for 2022 on 15-17 April.
