Formula 4 graduate Sage Murdoch will embark on a new career direction, as he joins the Australian Prototype Series for 2018.
The Queenslander will race Jam Motorsport’s Wolf GB08 and will make his racing debut in the series at The Bend Motorsport Park.
The 15-year-old has intentions of racing sports cars overseas, with an end-goal of racing Le Mans.
“I am excited to be competing in the Australian Prototype Series next year,” Murdoch said.
“My objective for next year is to finish in the top three and maybe do a race at Rome in the 6 Hour with the Wolf factory team, Avelon Formula.
“My career objective is to make it to Le Mans or the Asian Le Mans series.”
Murdoch recently tested John-Paul Drake’s West at Mallala Motorsport Park, gaining valuable experience and a taste for sports cars before the season kicks off.
“The car that I tested in was amazing… I had never driven anything so quick with so much aero and it took me two sessions to get my head around it and start setting some decent lap times,” Murdoch added.
The first round of the Australian Prototype Series will run at the season opener of the Shannons Nationals at The Bend Motorsport Park on 13-15 April, 2018.
