The carsales TCR Asia Pacific Cup line up has been further bolstered with the addition of local Victorian Chelsea Angelo.
After campaigning a Holden Astra prepared by Kelly Racing in the 2019 Australian series, Angelo will pilot a Melbourne Performance Centre VW Golf GTI for the event – previously piloted by Aaron Cameron.
Angelo joins a host of Australian, New Zealand and international drivers for the Australian Grand Prix’ first taste of TCR machinery.
“It’s great to confirm that I will be back in the TCR Series, this time driving a Golf for MPC,” Angelo said.
“I really enjoyed my time in the category last year and learnt so much along the journey.
“The cars are really fun to drive and with some of the progress that we made towards the end of last season, I believe that we can transfer that into some results at the Grand Prix.
“I can’t thank Astrontech enough for showing their support to get me on the grid for Albert Park. I can’t wait for the Grand Prix week to start.”
The livery of Angelo’s Astrontech VW will be revealed next week in the lead up to the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix, with Thursday featuring a host of support categories ahead of Formula 1’s curtain raiser for 2020.
