Brad Schumacher is vowing to leave nothing on the table as he aims to be an outright contender in the 2023 Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS.
Schumacher has confirmed that he will compete in the Am class of the GT championship in his Audi R8 LMS Evo II GT3 for the opening round at Mount Panorama as part of the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour over the Easter weekend.
The Schumacher Motorsport Audi will continue to feature major support from Fuchs – a partnership that debuted at the LIQUI MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour in February.
Based in Bathurst, Schumacher is aiming to start the championship off on the right foot, and he says that he could not think of a better place to launch his assault on the title than at the circuit that he calls ‘home.’
Schumacher has been a regular in the GT championship for the past three years, winning the Trophy class in 2021 and finishing second in that same class last year, despite missing some events while he stepped up to Pro-Am.
In the final three-hour endurance race of 2022, Schumacher and Supercars driver Tim Slade teamed-up to finish second overall – the team’s best result in Pro-Am.

QUOTES
Brad Schumacher
“I’m pleased to confirm that Schumacher Motorsport will be back for another year in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS for the opening round at Bathurst,” said Schumacher.
“We’ve raced in the Trophy Class, coming first in 2021 and second in 2022. We dipped our toe in the Pro-Am class and came second in 3 hour race at the Bathurst International last year. This year, I decided to enter the outright Am class in our current spec Audi to maximise my driving time behind the wheel rather than give half of my seat time away in Pro/Am.”
“My ambition is to obviously step up and win the Am class this year. I’m not doing this for any other reason, but there’s some really stiff competition. It’s quite a competitive field.”
“There’s no better place to open the championship at the best race track that we have in Australia, and maybe even the world. It’s the perfect circuit for these awesome cars.”
“And it’s great to have Fuchs alongside us for the 2023 season, as well as our partners Kelso Electrical, McDonalds, Panduit, Reckless Brewing and Airworx. Our team is really looking forward to delivering for our valued supporters on track.”
