After announcing its commitment to the 2024 Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series, 99motorsport has confirmed the first driver for its potential two-car team.
Experienced team owner Marcus LaDelle will pilot the Audi RS3 LMS TCR for next month’s season opener at Sandown International Raceway after purchasing it late last year.
Armed with more than 20 years of experience behind the wheel of a race car, LaDelle has raced a number of high profile categories during his career, with his most recent being in a Toyota 86.

Although LaDelle initially intended to serve as Team Manager for the upcoming TCR season, however driving a car previously steered by Chaz Mostert and Will Brown was an opportunity too good to turn down.
“While I originally had the humble approach of putting a driver in the car, I can’t resist the challenge of steering this very fast Euro, and I love the Sandown circuit,” LaDelle said.
“Our ultimate plan is to enter two Audis RS3s in the series and we are holding a Rookie Evaluation Day on January 24 at Sydney Motorsport Park to assess up to four great candidates for the second car.
“While it wasn’t our initial plan for me to drive the car, with the time of year etc, it seems smart to commit to this and work on the driver for the second car.”
The Evaluation Day will not only help the New South Wales based team find a driver for the second Audi it hopes to have by Race Sandown, but it will also give the 99motorsport owner a chance to gain seat time in the Audi.

“I can’t wait to get in the car in a few weeks, then pack it and send it to Sandown. It’s going to be a massive learning curve, even with my experience,” LaDelle added.
“I haven’t driven a Front Wheel Drive Race car since a Honda Integra in the old GTP days in 2001. Setting goals are hard at this stage, but I believe with the car’s pedigree and MPC’s support, a top 10 is achievable and reasonable.”
Those unable to make it to Race Sandown will be able to watch Saturday and Sunday’s action unfold live and free via 7plus and 7mate.
